Primary keyword: FOSSiBOT FBP1200 portable power station
The FBP1200 is not simply a smaller version of the F1200. It is an all-in-one balcony and home energy system built around a 1,958Wh LiFePO4 battery, with 800W grid-tied output and 1,200W off-grid output. Its IP65 rating, 2,000W PV input and expansion capability give it a different purpose from conventional portable stations.
Maximise Savings, Find Your Ideal Energy Combination
FOSSiBOT EU publishes the following recommended FBP1200 system combinations. These figures are taken from the manufacturer’s EU product page. Actual energy savings depend on household consumption, solar conditions, installation, and local electricity tariffs.
| Recommended Combination | Energy Saved (daily) | PV Input Power | Annual Power Consumption | Battery Capacity | Max. Grid-tied AC Output | Max. Off-grid AC Output |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Power | ≈5.7kWh | 2000W | 2000kWh | 3916Wh | 1200W | 1200W |
| Additional Power Duo | ≈11.4kWh | 2000–4000W | 4000kWh | 7832Wh | 2400W | 2400W |
| Advanced Power Trio | ≈17.1kWh | 4000–6000W | 6000kWh | 9790Wh | 3600W | 3600W |
| Flagship Power Quad | ≈22.8kWh | 6000–8000W | 8000kWh | 15664Wh | 4800W | 4800W |
Safety and regional note: The manufacturer says installations exceeding 2400W or systems with a single-device capacity above 15kWh should be reviewed by a certified electrician and comply with local requirements. Its EU page notes that 2400W grid-tied output requires approval from the local utility provider or relevant authority. The published savings are based on FOSSiBOT lab tests; actual results may vary.

Understanding the two output modes
The most important distinction is between the 800W grid-tied output and the 1,200W off-grid output. These figures describe different operating roles. The FBP1200 should therefore not be compared with a conventional 1,200W portable station by looking at one number alone.
Solar-first design
The 2,000W PV input is unusually large relative to the battery capacity. That makes the system interesting for users who can make meaningful use of solar generation and want stored energy available for later. Actual solar production depends on panel arrangement, weather and installation conditions.
Home backup
FOSSiBOT specifically lists refrigerator backup and direct charging for phones and laptops. The practical strategy is to keep essential loads within the off-grid output ceiling and avoid assuming that every household appliance can be powered simultaneously. Refrigerators also have startup and cycling behaviour that should be considered.
Installation matters
Because this is a balcony/grid-tied system, electrical installation is more important than with a simple plug-in power station. Local electrical requirements and professional installation should be followed wherever required. The IP65 rating does not mean the system can be installed carelessly or exposed beyond its specified conditions.
Expansion and long outages
Expansion to approximately 9,790Wh per unit (a main unit plus four expansion batteries) can substantially increase stored energy. That matters when the user’s problem is duration rather than peak output. It does not remove the 1,200W off-grid output limit.
Maintenance and safety
Keep connections clean, inspect cables, follow the installation requirements, respect temperature limits and avoid opening the battery enclosure. For a grid-connected system, maintenance and modifications should be handled according to the manufacturer’s instructions and local electrical rules.
Verdict
The FBP1200 is best understood as a solar-oriented home energy system rather than a conventional camping battery. Its 1,958Wh capacity, 2,000W PV input, 800W grid-tied output and 1,200W off-grid output make it distinctive. Buyers should choose it for the energy workflow they need, not simply because its battery capacity looks attractive.
